Cucumber Catering is currently recruiting experienced Care Home Chefs for ongoing agency work across the Suffolk and IP area.
We have a high volume of shifts available, particularly for chefs who have good availability and can work regularly. If you have previous experience working in a care home environment and are looking for flexible, well-paid chef work, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role
As an Agency Chef working within a care home, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while ensuring their individual dietary requirements and preferences are met.
You will play an important role in supporting residents' wellbeing through good nutrition and enjoyable meals. You will work alongside the care team and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals for residents
- Follow menus and cater for individual dietary requirements
- Prepare meals for residents with allergies, intolerances and special diets
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with regulations
- Manage stock and minimise food waste
- Work effectively as part of the care home team
- Adapt menus and meals where required to meet residents' needs
- Provide a friendly and professional service to residents and staff
What We're Looking For
Care home chef experience is essential for this role.
We are looking for chefs who are:
- Experienced working in a care home or similar healthcare environment
- Confident preparing meals for large numbers of residents
- Knowledgeable about special diets and dietary requirements
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about providing good-quality food
- Available to work a good number of shifts
- Ready to start immediately
