Senior Chef de Partie, Aston-On-Trent

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Chef De Partie at our clients Care Home. They are committed to providing professional, respectful and quality care, whilst maintaining exceptional standards to ensure residents enjoy the highest quality of life.


Purpose of position:

Support the Head Chef in the preparation, cooking and presentation of all meals to high standards of quality and quantity. Observe the correct economic and hygienic use of materials and equipment and help in the smooth running of the catering department.


The care home has 60 rooms, with around 40 residents currently

 


Principle responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Be aware of residents, villagers and Wellness Spa clients’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • Be involved in the preparation and serving of the meals on the hotplate, as required.
  • Ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable (high risk) goods.
  • Dispose of waste correctly.
  • Help to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
  • Notify the Head Chef, Head of Hospitality or Village Manager of any defective machinery or equipment immediately.
  • Be aware of and understand all relevant company policies and procedures in particular Health and Safety, COSHH, food hygiene regulations and risk assessments.
  • Deal on the telephone and face to face with all members of the public, the village, the care home and the staff group in a professional and courteous way.
  • Comply with the Village’s guidance policies at all times.
  • Attend both internal and external training courses as appropriate to identified training needs.
  • Perform such other duties as may be reasonably required. 


Hours of work :

4 days out of 7 40 hrs per week, Will include weekends 8am till 8pm.

Experience Required:


  • Experience of cooking in a Care Home environment.
  • NVQ or equivalent City and Guilds qualifications.
  • Up to date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience of cooking in a professional kitchen
  • Self and team motivated.
  • Organised.
  • Flexible.
  • Sensitive to the needs of others but able to implement action plans to address identified needs.
  • Able to work within concepts and broad boundaries.
  • A team player but also able to work on own initiative.
  • Good communicator.
  • Maintain appearances and behaviour befitting a member of the Catering team
